Maintenance and Repairs to your Council Home

If you are a tenant in a Dublin City Council home on which you pay rent, the following repairs will be carried out by us:

  • Structural repairs
  • Roof repairs, repairs to external walls and doors
  • Electrical faults
  • Window Repairs (excluding glass)
  • Flooding
  •  Any other repairs due to the normal wear and tear

You as the tenant are responsible for the following maintenance and repairs to your home:

Note: Tenants who are over 6 weeks in Rent Arrears will no longer have routine repairs carried out to their home -

Note: There is  a callout charge of €100 if the repair is deemed not to be an emergency

To fix a problem, contact us at the address below.

Note: We will only carry out repairs if your rent is up-to-date.

 

When reporting the problem, please tell us the following information:

  • Your name
  • Address.
  • Contact phone number
  • A description of the problem. 

We will then arrange a date and time for it to be fixed, as follows:

  • Routine repairs: Fixed within 8 weeks, e.g. replacing a toilet.
  • Urgent repairs: Fixed within 5 days, e.g. heating.
  • Emergency repairs: Fixed immediately, e.g. water leak, faulty sockets.

 

Note: If the problem to be fixed has been caused by you or someone else living in the house, you will have to pay the cost of any repairs.
