Dublin City Council Resettlement Service

The Resettlement Service of Dublin City Council facilitates moving homeless people into appropriate accommodation.  The aim of the service is to provide homeless people with support and to enable them to address the issues which led them to becoming homeless in addition to the issues which prevent them from moving out of homelessness.

Objectives 

  • To explore the issues which led to the person becoming homeless.
  • To assess the needs of the client through weekly contact.
  • To refer to and link with appropriate services according to the needs identified by the client.
  • To identify appropriate accommodation options.
  • To put a preventative plan in place for the future.
  • To provide post-settlement support for an agreed period.
     

Target Groups

  • People sleeping rough
  • Single people/couples living in hostels
  • People living in private emergency accommodation
     

Criteria

  • Age 18+
  • Registered as homeless with Dublin City Council
  • Willingness to engage regularly with the service.
  • Willingness to address the issues that have contributed to their current situation.
  • Willingness to identify goals and work towards settlement.
