Dublin City Council’s social work service can help you with housing, family and other difficulties. If you need help, contact one of our Housing Welfare Officers. A Housing Welfare Officer is a social worker employed by Dublin City Council.

We can offer you help or advice with problems in the following areas:

  • Housing and tenancy problems
  • Paying rent or rent arrears
  • Child and family matters
  • Marital and domestic issues
  • Addiction
  • Young people and education
  • Neighbourhood and community issues
  • Needs of older people
  • Vulnerable and reclusive people
  • Mental health problems

All our services are confidential and private.

If we find that we cannot help you ourselves, we will put you in contact with someone who can, e.g. the Health Service Executive, money advice services, etc. For example, we have no statutory responsibility for child protection and cannot help to pay private debts.
