Dublin City Council is currently reviewing the Intoxicating Liquor Bye-Laws made under the Local Government Act 1994.
The Draft Bye-Laws made under the Local Government Act, 2001 prohibit the consumption of intoxicating liquor on the streets of Dublin and in public places. They also provide for a fixed payment notice of €75 which must be paid within 21 days of the date of the notice in order to avoid prosecution.
The draft bye-laws may be inspected at the offices of Dublin City Council, Culture Recreation & Amenity Department, Block 4, Ground Floor, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday or on the website www.dublincity.ie for a period from 23rd June 2008 – 23rd July 2008 inclusive. A copy of the draft bye-laws will be made available free of charge to any person applying for it.
Dublin City Council will consider any submissions in relation to the draft review of the Bye-Laws which are submitted in writing to the Executive Manager at the above address or by email to cra@dublincity.ie before 5.00 pm. on Thursday 31st July 2008.
