Draft Phibsborough LAP 2015
The Draft Phibsborough LAP 2015, along with Reports of the Chief Executive on (i) public submissions and (ii) Councillor motions, was considered at the City Council monthly meeting on the 7th December 2015. The Council decided not to make the Plan.
A new Draft Local Area Plan (LAP) has been prepared for Phibsborough under the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).
It follows on from the previous Phibsborough/Mountjoy LAP 2008, which had a 6-year life span and expired in October 2014. Key changes from the 2008 Plan include the retention of Dalymount Park as a sporting facility in the area. In addition, the new Children’s Hospital is no longer proposed for the Mater Hospital grounds, and Mountjoy Prison will remain for the life of the plan.
The Plan, which is at Draft stage, will remain in place for 6-years once adopted, with the potential to extend to 10-years. It contains numerous objectives for enhancing the local environment within Phibsborough and sets out land use requirements for key development sites.
Members of the public are invited to make submissions on the Draft Plan in the period from 17th August – 28th September 2015.
The Local Area Plan is accompanied by three supporting documents, the Environmental Report, the Appropriate Assessment Screening Report and Strategic Flood Risk Assessment, all available to download below.
