The Economic Development Unit (EDU) works, in collaboration with a range of key agencies in both the public and private sectors, to create the right conditions for strong economic activity across the City Region and to increase Dublin’s global competitiveness. 

It does this by;

• co-ordinating the delivery of the Economic Action Plan for the Dublin City Region,
• providing the secretariat and project support to the Creative Dublin Alliance,
• co-ordinating the annual Innovation Dublin festival,
• as well as the operation of the Business Support Unit.

In 2009/2010 it supported the work of The Lord Mayor's Commission on Employment
