Development Contribution Scheme

Sub-section (1) of Section 48 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 enables a planning authority, when granting a planning permission under Section 34 of the Act, to include conditions requiring the payment of a contribution.  This contribution is in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting development in the area of the planning authority and that is provided, or that is intended will be provided, by or on behalf of the local authority (regardless of other sources of funding for the infrastructure and facilities).

DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT ACTS 2000 - 2006 DEVELOPMENT CONTRIBUTION SCHEME

Notice is hereby given that Dublin City Council at its Monthly Meeting of Council held on 7th December, 2009 made a Development Contribution Scheme in accordance with the provisions of the Planning and Development Acts 2000-2006.

Details of the proposed contributions under the Development Contribution Scheme as made for the administrative area of Dublin City Council are as follows:

 Industrial/Commercial Development  €127 per square metre of industrial/commercial development
 Residential  €156.62 per square metre of residential unit 
The rates will be amended on 1st January each year during the life of the Scheme in accordance with the Wholesale Price Index. The commencement of the Scheme becomes effective in respect of all permissions granted from January 1st 2010.
