Purchase of Domestic Ground Rent

Domestic Ground Rent is rent that is charged on the land upon which a house is built. The rent exists because when the house was originally built and purchased, a lease of the land was granted to the house purchaser.  This means that although the house owner may own the actual house building they may only own a lease in the land upon which it is built.

Click on the links below for more information relating to purchasing the Domestic Ground Rent including a list of those streets where Domestic Ground Rents may exist that are managed by the Property Management Section of Dublin City Council.  For further information please call T: 01 2223011.

Please note that some Domestic Ground Rents are managed by our Housing Department who provide a separate purchasing scheme
