Lord Mayor of Dublin Naoise Ó Muirí today will speak to the Mayor of Poznan, Ryszard Grobelny who has thanked the Irish football fans for their support and good nature during the recent European Championships. He has commissioned an advert which has been on the streets of Dublin for the past few days to thank the fans.
Lord Mayor Ó Muirí says “The behaviour of the fans while in Poland was a credit to Ireland and UEFA, the European football governing body, has named the Irish Fans as the best at Euro 2012. I have met many Irish fans who travelled to Poland who tell me that they had an incredible time over there. I salute the Mayor and all the people of Poznan for giving the Irish such a welcome and appreciating their presence. I will phone the Mayor personally to thank him for the hospitality and his generous gesture currently on the streets of Dublin.”
