The Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Emer Costello, will officially launch the Junior Certificate School Programme, Make a Book Exhibition, in the Civic Offices, Fishamble Street, on Wednesday, 25th March at 10.30am.
The Atrium of the Civic Offices will echo to the sounds of over a thousand students as they show off their exuberant, colourful books. These are not books in the traditional sense of the word, some are large and three dimensional, others are small, discreet and accompanied by beautiful exhibits that show off these intriguing texts.
“Central to the Programme is the belief that all students are capable of great things. The Make a Book Project succeeds in proving that. Students experience the excitement of becoming authors and sharing their work with a wider audience.” said the Deputy Lord Mayor.
The Make a Book Exhibition is an annual event for students of the Junior Certificate School Programme. It links student writing and cross-curricular work, which has become an important element of the JCSP school calendar. The Exhibition runs until Friday 27th March.
Ends.
