“Conas atá tu” Bishop Tutu Civic Reception at Dublin’s Mansion  House - Friday 13th February

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Eibhlin Byrne, will host a Civic Reception in the Mansion House, in honour of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Nobel Peace Laureate and retired Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, on Friday 13th February at 11.30 a.m.

On arrival at the Mansion House, Archbishop Tutu will be greeted by the Lord Mayor who will present him with a unique handcrafted sculpture known as a ‘Soul Boat’ designed by Irish artist Clodagh Redden.

“Archbishop Tutu has devoted his life to resolving many of the world’s most demanding challenges, through applying his inspirational leadership, wisdom, compassion and understanding.  In these troubled times Archbishop Tutu is a symbol, to all of us, of our need to take personal responsibility and play our role in maintaining our communities and protecting our vulnerable.  I would like to honour him as a global icon of hope at a time when hope is very much on the line.” said Lord Mayor, Eibhlin Byrne.
