Lord Mayor of Dublin, Eibhlin Byrne will open the newly refurbished playground in Blessington Street Park (Broadstone), Dublin 7 on Tuesday 24th February 2009 at 10am.

“I am delighted to be opening this wonderfully refurbished and modernised playground in Blessington Street Park today.  The new facilities will ensure that the Park will remain at the heart of the community, I would like to congratulate everyone who was involved in this project” said the Lord Mayor.

The improvements were carried out as part of Dublin City Council’s Parks Improvements Programme of Works 2008/2009 and was co-funded by Dublin City Council and RAPID.  The new facilities include: an enclosed floodlit Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), an extended children’s play area, which will cater for both junior and senior age groups, a new exercise and fitness area, a new footpath walkway and landscaping of this section of the park.
