Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr Emer Costello together with Agnieszka Pacyga, will launch the Magic Exhibition of Illustrations from Polish Children’s Books in the Central Library on Thursday, 23 April at 6pm.
Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr Emer Costello stated, “ The Magic Illustrations Exhibition not only encourages integration starting with our youngest citizens, but also offers a cultural exchange. These illustrations will arouse your immediate interest and entice you to reach for the work of other Polish illustrators”.
The Polish community invites everyone to share and embrace their national heritage by using pictures and fables. There are 53-framed illustrations in total from Polish Books, some award winning, while some were nominated for the IBBY award. The original material has been gathered over the last 49 years, the oldest in the collection dates back to 1958. The material being exhibited focuses on the images from the last two years.
