The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Emer Costello will open a Book of Condolence on Thursday 13th August and Friday 14th August 2009 at the Mansion House for the late Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Founder of the Special Olympics, who passed away on 11th August 2009.
“Eunice Kennedy Shriver was a woman of strength, vision and dedication. Her commitment and passion to enhance the lives of people living with intellectual disability led to her founding the Special Olympics which has grown from strength to strength over the last 40 years of its existence. I hope that anyone passing by the Mansion House on Thursday or Friday will take the opportunity to sign the Book of Condolence in recognition and celebration of the wonderful, kind and inspiring life of Eunice Kennedy Shriver” said the Lord Mayor.
The Book of Condolence will be open in the Oak Room of the Mansion House for a period of two days: Thursday 13th August 2009 from 10am – 6pm and Friday 14th August 2009 from 10am – 5pm.
