New guide to help small businesses get started

Small businesses are the key to economic recovery. But if you think starting a new business is a daunting prospect, help is at hand.
Dublin City Enterprise Board and Dublin City Council jointly launch a ‘Guide To Enterprise in Dublin City’ at 11am on Monday 15th June. The launch will take place in the Business Information Centre, Central Library, ILAC Centre.

A ‘Guide To Enterprise in Dublin City’ is a support to anyone who has a business idea and is thinking of starting up a new business. It is also aimed at those looking to expand an existing business.

The guide provides advice and practical information on how to set up a business, business planning, information on enterprise space, sources of finance, training and networking opportunities. It also includes a directory with the names and contact details on the many support agencies and organisations in the city who can help business owners.

According to Greg Swift, CEO of Dublin City Enterprise Board, “Small business is a key sector in our economy. We are acutely aware of the importance of fostering entrepreneurship in our city to ensure future growth and prosperity. In the current climate it is essential that we secure the future prosperity and vibrancy of our city. It is clear that supporting and encouraging entrepreneurs to realise the potential of their ideas will be central to this.”

The Guide also provides information for aspiring immigrant entrepreneurs on how to access these services in various languages.
