Details of this exciting Festival of Innovation and Creativity in Dublin will be announced by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Eibhlin Byrne in the Science Gallery on Wednesday 13th May 2009 at 10.30 am.

INNOVATION DUBLIN is a week long festival of workshops, events and showcases highlighting and encouraging innovation and creativity in the city. It is an initiative of the Creative Dublin Alliance and is being co-ordinated by Dublin’s Local Authorities, Business Groups, Colleges, Organisations and individuals. It will run from the 14th to the 20th of October 2009.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Eibhlin Byrne will announce the details of this exciting event and give a Call for Ideas to companies, organisations and individuals to get involved and showcase their innovation. The Lord Mayor will launch the website at www.innovationdublin.ie where people can view an information video, register their interest and submit ideas and suggestions.

The Creative Dublin Alliance is a network of diverse leaders that meet to discuss and implement solutions in response to the challenges that Dublin faces as an internationally competitive city region. It is a collaboration between Dublin Local Authorities, Colleges, State Agencies, Business and the Not-for-Profit sector.

That creativity and innovation will ensure Dublin’s position as a leading European city for enterprise and as a real player on the global stage.  Harnessing “Innovation Dublin” is a challenge for all of us and I call on everybody to play their part in making Dublin “a creative capital for the 21st century” said Lord Mayor Eibhlin Byrne.
