New Housing Scheme for Saint Andrews Court/Denzille Lane

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Eibhlin Byrne, will officially open a new Dublin City Council housing scheme at Saint Andrews Court/Denzille Lane, Dublin 2 in the presence of the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Mr. John Gormley, T.D., on Monday 18th May 2009 at 12pm.

 

The scheme consists of the provision of nine newly constructed social housing units, the conversion of eighteen bed sits to thirteen one bed units and the provision of eleven affordable apartment units on the corner of Fenian Street and Holles Street.  In addition, extensive precinct improvement works to the courtyard area have been carried out, which include a basketball area, children’s play area, improved public lighting and electronically controlled pedestrian and vehicular access.

 

“This development reflects Dublin City Council’s commitment to ongoing improvement of housing in the city.  I very much welcome these new housing units which will greatly enhance the quality of life and community here,” said the Lord Mayor.

The 9 social housing units include three – 3 beds, three – 2 bed and three – 1 bed apartments.
A third Dublin City Council social housing scheme will be opened by the Lord Mayor on Monday 25th May 2009 at 2.30pm at York Street, Dublin 2.
