Dublin City Council’s North Central Area Office in partnership with NEAR90fm and MIC project is pleased to announce details of the gig arising from the Northside Music Showcase competition held in March of this year. The event will take place on the 17th July at 8pm in the Trinity Sports and Leisure Complex, Hole in the Wall Road, Donaghmede, Dublin, 13.
The headline band is Saccade who are a four-piece indie-pop rock band from Dublin’s northside. They are a critically acclaimed and emerging band who have enjoyed high profile support slots recently. They have a substantial fan base on the northside.
The successful entrants from the music showcase are Easy Target, The Additions and Thousandaires. They are emerging and promising bands with potential to make a big impact on the music scene. This event is a good and important platform for their talents.
NEAR90fm will do a live broadcast from the venue during the performances.
It promises to be a great feast of music.
Admission € 5 and tickets are available on the night at the door.

Background
In March 2009, DCC, in partnership with NEAR90fm and MIC project invited musical submissions from interested bands and musicians. On offer were the following prizes:
- Two/three bands to be shortlisted to support a main line band in July 2009,
- Airplay on NEAR90fm for shortlisted two/three bands,
- Photo shoot with top musical photographer,
- Promotion and publicity opportunity and official biography description,
- Plus Recording session in AXIS for one band and CD design.
There will be an opportunity to attend an IMRO workshop for all entrants.
