The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Eibhlin Byrne, has congratulated Dublin City Council on being awarded the Local Authority of the Year Award at a ceremony held last night by Chambers Ireland.  The Lord Mayor said “This Award is confirmation of the efforts to provide high quality and accessible services to the people of Dublin.  In particular I believe that Dublin City Council has shown a genuine commitment to working in partnership with, and listening to, the citizens of Dublin.  I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff who serve the city so professionally.

I would especially like to express my appreciation of our City Manager, John Tierney, whose vision and leadership has been crucial in this achievement and will be critical to our continuing success in the current turbulent economic challenges facing our city.”
