It’s a Knock-out at the National Boxing Stadium

Dublin City Council, will host a City wide “Boxing Main Event” in the National Boxing Stadium on Thursday 27th November 2008 from 7pm-9pm.

This Boxing event is the grand finale to Dublin City Council’s promotion of the sport for young people aged between 10 – 18 years.  Over 100 young people took part in a 6-week training programme where they received quality coaching and training.  Thirty of these students will compete in a two round match against opponents of similar age and standard tomorrow, in an event that will display the skills and techniques they have learnt over the last few weeks.

The participants of the programme will be presented with a record of achievement certificate on the night, jointly awarded by the Irish Amateur Boxing Association and Dublin City Council.
