New Centre opens in St. Teresa’s Gardens

A new Educational and Recreational Centre will be opened in St. Teresa’s Gardens, Donore Avenue, Dublin 8 on Wednesday 12th November 2008 at 2 pm by the Minister of State at the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, John Curran, T.D. 

This new centre is part of Dublin City Council’s regeneration programme for the Liberties area.  It includes a computer training room, sponsored by Dublin City Council and the Digital Community Programme with Broadband Internet access being provided by Eircom.  The training centre will cater for the needs of the local community and will run computer courses for the complete beginner right up to Microsoft accredited courses.  The centre will also provide cookery classes for young parents, a book club for children and a nail and hair bar.  

“This new Educational and Recreational Centre will be the heart of the regeneration of St. Teresa’s Gardens.  It will be a place for all members of the community to come to learn and to enjoy” said the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Eibhlin Byrne.
