Dublin City Council advises that in order to facilitate improvement works on the distribution network in the South Dublin area, essential works will take place on our largest pipeline.
The works are estimated to take in excess of twenty-four hours and during this time we will be depending on storage to maintain supplies. To make the storage go further and reduce the risk of supply disruptions, we are asking consumers to assist us by minimising their water usage on Friday 24th October and Saturday 25th October 2008.
In the event that the work takes longer than anticipated or that storage is used up more quickly, some areas may experience disruption to supplies such as reduced pressure or loss of supply. In this scenario areas throughout the city as well as surroundings areas to the south of the city would be most at risk.
All efforts will be made to carry out the work in the optimum time and to prevent significant disruption. We ask for your co-operation and help in reducing the demand for water at this time.
Dublin City Council apologises for the inconvenience caused. With your co-operation and understanding we hope to keep the disruption to a minimum.
