“As Lord Mayor I am deeply concerned about what happened in O’Devaney Gardens last night. It was an extremely traumatic event for residents who are already suffering major stress as a result of the collapse of the PPP in O’Devaney Gardens.  In my role as Civic Leader of the City, I will be meeting with senior members of the Gardai and City Council officials tomorrow (Friday) to ensure a cohesive response to this event and to put in place safeguards so there isn’t a repeat of it.” 

“There needs to be increased co-operation between Gardai and City Council officials so that early warning alerts on City Council estates are activated,” said the Lord Mayor.  “We owe it to the residents of O’Devaney Gardens, as tenants of Dublin City Council, to ensure their safety.”
