Dublin City Council's 89th Liffey Swim Race 9th September 2008 - Men's & Women's Results

The 89th annual Dublin Liffey Swim sponsored by Dublin City Council took place today, Saturday 9th September 2006.  The swim, a 2.2kilometre race, started at Watling Street Bridge and finished at the Customs House. The swimmers were each assigned a time handicap depending on their level of proficiency.
 
 Men's Event – 4.15pm Start
 
Winner - Charles Harper, Dublin Club in a time of 18 minutes and 13 seconds (handicap 1min 20secs).
Second place -  Eamonn Judge, Eastern Bay Club in a time of 19 minutes and 6 seconds (handicap 30secs).
Third place -  Eamonn Cosgrove, Sandycove Club in a time of 19 minutes and 46 seconds (no handicap).
 
Women's Event – 5.15pm Start
           
Winner -  Mary Kelly, Aer Lingus Club in a time of 18 minutes and 7 seconds (handicap 2mins 20secs).
Second place - Clodagh Nolan, Carraig Masters Club in a time of 18 Minutes and 38 seconds (handicap 1min 50secs)
Third place -  Julie-Ann Somers, ESB Club in a time of 20 minutes and 34 seconds (no handicap).
