Shortlisted entries for the 2008 children’s art competition, organised by Coolock Public Library, are to be displayed in the Northside Shopping Centre from 16th-26th June 2008.  The 2008 competition has a recycling theme and asks the children to design a sticker for Green wheelie bins.  Lord Mayor, Cllr. Paddy Bourke, will announce the winner at a prize-giving ceremony at 11 a.m. on Thursday, 26th June.
 

The shortlist of entries comes from three age categories: 5-7 year olds, 8-10 year olds and 11-13 year olds.  Sticker designs were chosen based on clarity of message, originality of concept, use of colour and creativity.  Visitors to Coolock Library have been able to vote for the winner over the last few weeks.

The annual competition is open to the pupils of national schools in the Coolock area.  Shortlisted entries each receive voucher for €50, while the winner receives a voucher for €100 and €500 voucher for their school.
