As part of the Street Performances World Championships, Dublin City Council will provide free active fun sessions for children this Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June in Merrion Square. The activities will run from 10a.m. – 6p.m. and children of all ages from the ‘tinies to the tens’ and their parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate in activities such as pillow fighting, messy play and a variety of street games.   Over the two days the play development team of the council will encourage lots of “get your hands dirty” play for the children with a special emphasis on a creative corner.

This is a fore- runner to Play Day, a similar but larger event which takes place annually in July.

The play development team would like you to “DO - do this at home”.  All the activities are easy to organise and relatively inexpensive and could be copied by any community in their own green space or indeed back garden.
