Children’s Art in Libraries Programme

Children’s Art  in Libraries  Spring Programme 2012 (March 3rd – April 2nd)

Serpents, Stories and Drama is an exciting  new drama and creative writing programme, devised by the Arts Office for  city libraries, exploring the world of Alan Early’s ‘Arthur Quinn and the World Serpent’.  Children (aged 8-12) will be encouraged to explore contemporary and Viking Dublin. Taking Early’s novel as a starting point, the programme  examines themes such as honour, magic love and betrayal. Click here for brochure and details of participating libraries .

 

THE PICTURES - Monthly Film Club for Over 55’s & Friends

The Pictures’ autumn/winter season gives you a chance to see some of the great classics. The monthly film club for over 55’s was launched in January 2008 by Dublin City Council’s Arts Office and  axis Ballymun, in association with The Irish Film Institute and access Cinema.

The Pictures film club currently has over 120 members with new members joining all the time. Annual membership is €3 plus €2 per film or €4 per film for non-members.
