Public Consultation Regarding Control of Horse Drawn Carriages
Dublin City Council Control of Horse Drawn Carriages Draft Bye-Laws 2010.
Dublin City Council proposes to make Bye-Laws for the Control of Horse Drawn Carriages, in exercise of the powers vested in it by the provisions of Part 19, Sections 198 to 211, of the Local Government Act, 2001.
Draft Bye-Laws may be inspected during normal office hours, during the period
16th August 2010 to 17th September 2010 inclusive, at Dublin City Council, Roads and Traffic Department, Block 2, Floor 6, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8.
Copies of the Draft Bye-Laws and a briefing note are available free of charge at the above office, tel. 222 2531 and may also be viewed on www.dublincity.ie
Dublin City Council will consider any submissions made in relation to the Draft Bye-Laws.
Such submissions must be made in writing to the Executive Manager, Roads and Traffic Department at the above address or by email to traffic@dublincity.ie before 16.30hrs on Wednesday 29th September 2010.
Major Roadworks at Chapelizod Bridge – extended to 10th September 2010
Dublin City Council will be carrying out preparatory works from the 3rd August to 10th September for the installation of pedestrian footbridges on the Anna Livia Bridge over the River Liffey at Chapelizod.
Traffic Management for this work will involve the operation of a signal-controlled shuttle system over the bridge.
There may be significant delays to traffic in the area during this period. Please use alternative routes (M50 and N4).
Further disruption for shorter periods is envisaged in September and October during the installation of the footbridges.

Parking Tag is an additional service offered by Dublin City Council, it is a fast and convenient way to pay for parking. The advantages of using Parking Tag include no more fumbling for change at a parking meter and if you are delayed for any reason you can extend your parking session remotely. There are two options when using Parking Tag, pay as you go option or account option.

Those not wishing to avail of this service can still pay and display using a parking meter.
Dublin City Council’s Cycling Website wins Gold Award
Dublin City Council’s cycling website recently won a gold award in the “Online Social Impact” category, at the digital media awards 2010. The digital media awards seek to recognise and reward excellence in the digital media sector and take place annually.
Dublincitycycling.ie was developed by dublin.ie in collaboration with the Roads & Traffic Department.

Free Bicycle Parking in Dublin City Centre
Free, secure bicycle parking is now available at Drury Street multi-storey car park, Dublin 2.
The car park is open from 7.30am to 1am Monday to Saturday and 11am to 7pm on Sundays.

City Centre 30 km/h special speed limit
New speed limit of 30km/h came into operation on 31st January 2010.
The main feature of the new speed limits is the expansion of the city centre 30 km/h special speed limit zone.
A speed limit of 30 km/h now applies to all roads within a city centre area extending from Bolton Street Street on the northside to Kevin Street Lower / St. Stephens Green on the southside and extending from Church Street / Bridge Street on the west to Gardiner Street/ Tara Street / Dawson Street on the east.
The zone includes National Roads such as O Connell Street, Dame Street, and the North and South Quays between Church Street and Tara Street.

College Green Bus Corridor is in operation Monday to Friday
The full operational hours of the College Green Bus Corridor are as follows:
Monday to Friday 07:00 to 10:00
Monday to Friday 16:00 to 19:00
During these hours, only Buses, Taxis and Cyclists are permitted to travel through the College Green Bus Corridor.
