Grangegorman Road Lower, Dublin 7

A request has been received from Roadbridge/Grangegorman Development Agency (GDA) for the temporary road closure of the following road to facilitate construction of a new storm sewer for the Grangegorman Development Project:

  • Phase 1: Grangegorman Road Lower (from Brunswick Street North to Kirwan Street), Dublin 7 from 0.00hrs on Monday 12th May 2014 to 24.00hrs on Friday 8th August 2014.
  • Phase 2: Grangegorman Road Lower (from Kirwan Street to Rathdown Road), Dublin 7 from 0.00hrs on Saturday 9th August 2014 to 24.00hrs on Friday 5th September 2014.

Traffic Management Plan Phase 1

  • Traffic on Brunswick Street wishing to travel to Grangegorman Road Lower & Upper will be diverted via Church Street Upper, Constitution Hill, Phibsborough Road and North Circular Road.
  • Traffic on Grangegorman Road Lower wishing to travel to Brunswick St North will be diverted via Kirwan Street and Stoneybatter.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

Traffic Management Plan Phase 2

  • Traffic on Grangegorman Road Lower wishing to travel to Grangegorman Road Upper will be diverted via Kirwan Street, Manor Street, Prussia Street and North Circular Road.
  • Traffic on North Circular Road wishing to travel on Grangegorman Road Upper or Rathdown Road to Grangegorman Road Lower will be diverted via Prussia Street, Manor Street, Stoneybatter and Brunswick Street North.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.


Barrow Street, Dublin 4.

A request has been received from Bennett Construction for the temporary closure of the following road to facilitate installation of a link bridge over the road:

  • Barrow Street, Dublin 4 (from Grand Canal Street Upper to Gordon Street) from 18.00hrs on Friday 16th May to 06.00hrs on Monday 19th May 2014.

Traffic Management Plan

  • Traffic on Ringsend Road wishing to travel on Barrow Street to Grand Canal Street Upper will be diverted via South Lotts Road.
  • Traffic on Grand Canal Street Lower wishing to travel on Barrow Street to Ringsend Road will be diverted via South Lotts Road.
  • Pedestrian and local will be maintained.

Giro D’Italia Road Race Event

A request has been received from RCS Sport for the temporary closure of the following roads to facilitate the Giro D’Italia Race event:

  • Location 1: Merrion Square South from 20.00hrs on Thursday 8th May 2014 to 23.00hrs on Sunday 11th May 2014.
  • Location 2: Merrion Square West, Merrion Square East, Merrion Street Upper, Fitzwilliam Street Lower and Mount Street Upper from 20.00hrs on Friday 9th to 23.00hes on Sunday 11th May 2014. 
  • Location 3: Howth Road (from Kilbarrack Road to James Larkin Road), James Larkin Road, Clontarf Road, Alfie Byrne Road, East  Wall Road, North Wall Quay, Custom House Quay, City Quay, Lombard Street, Westland Row, Lincoln Place, Merrion Street Lower, Clare Street, Leinster Street South, Merrion Square North from 13.30hrs to 17.00hrs on Sunday 11th May 2014.


Traffic Management Plan

The main event will take place on Sunday afternoon 11th May. However, there will be temporary road closures in on Merrion Square area (to prepare the Finish Line), starting on Merrion Square South on Thursday night 8th May and then extending to Merrion Square East & West etc on Friday night 9th May, during which the following diversions will be in operation

  • Traffic from Clare Street & Merrion Street Lower wishing to travel on Merrion Square West to Baggot St Lower will be diverted via Merrion Square North, Mount St Lower, Warrington Place and Herbert Place.
  • Traffic on Merrion Square North & Holles St wishing to travel on Merrion Square East & Fitzwilliam St Lower to Fitzwilliam St Upper will be diverted via Mount St Lower, Warrington Place, Herbert Place and Baggot Street Lower.
  • Traffic on Fitzwilliam St Upper wishing to travel on Fitzwilliam St Lower & Merrion Square East to Holles St & Merrion Square North will be diverted via Baggot Street Lower, Herbert Place, Warrington St and Mount St Lower.
  • Traffic on Merrion Row wishing to travel on Merrion St Upper & Merrion Square West to Merrion Square North will be diverted via Baggot St Lower, Herbert Place, Warrington St and Mount St Lower.

On Sunday afternoon 11th May, for the race, there will be road closures along the coast route on Howth Road, from Kilbarrack Rd, onto James Larkin Rd, Clontarf Road, Alfie Byrne Road, East Wall Rd, North Wall Quay, Custom House Quay, Talbot Memorial Bridge, City Quay, Lombard Street, Westland Row, Merrion St Lower, all Merrion Square, and adjoining roads from 13.30 hrs. However, temporary vehicular crossing points will be maintained at the following junctions: James Larkin Rd / Causway road, East Rd / Merchants Road / East Wall Rd, Guild St / Samuel Beckett Bridge, Memorial Rd / Custom House / Talbot Memorial Bridge and Lombard St / Townsend St / Pearse St, until approx 20 minutes before the race approaches.

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Essex Street East and Temple Bar, Dublin 2

The Temple Bar Company intends to close the following road to facilitate Latvia Day event:

  • Essex Street East and Temple Bar between 07.00hrs and 19.00hrs on Sunday 4th May 2014. 

Traffic Management Plan

  • Traffic on Parliament Street wishing to travel on Essex Street East to Eustace Street will be diverted via Dame Street.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.


Marlborough Street, Dublin 1.

A request has been received from GMC Utilities Group Limited for the temporary closure of the following street to facilitate Luas Cross City works:

  • Marlborough Street (from Parnell Street to Cathal Brugha Street), Dublin 1 from 0.00hrs on Monday 12th May 2014 to 24.00hrs on Monday 9th June 2014.

Traffic Management Plan

  • Traffic on Parnell Street wishing to travel south on Marlborough Street will be diverted via Cumberland Street North and Cathal Brugha Street.
  • Traffic on Cathal Brugha Street wishing to travel north on Marlborough Street to Parnell Street will be diverted via Cumberland Street North.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained. 


O’Connell Street, Dublin 1

GMC Utilities Group Limited intends to close the following road to facilitate Luas Cross City Works:
 
O’Connell Street Upper (northbound carriageway from Cathal Brugha Street to Parnell Street), Dublin 1 on the dates stated below;

  • Period 1: from 20.00hrs on Saturday 3rd May 2014 to 05.00hrs on Tuesday 6th May 2014
  • Period 2: from 20.00hrs on Saturday 10th May 2014 to 05.00hrs on Monday 12th May 2014.

  • Traffic on O’Connell Street Upper wishing to travel to Parnell Street will be diverted via Cathal Brugha Street and Cumberland Street North.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

 

Cathedral Street, Dublin 1

GMC Utilities Group Limited intends to close the following road to facilitate Luas Cross City Works: 

  • Cathedral Street (from Thomas Lane to Marlborough Street), Dublin 1 from 0.00hrs on Thursday 1st May to 24.00hrs on Monday 1st September 2014. 

Traffic Management Plan

  • A one-way system, southbound, will be implemented on Marlborough Street, from Cathal Brugha to Cathedral Street.
  • Local traffic on Marlborough Street, on section North Earl Street to Cathal Brugha Street, wishing to travel on Cathal Brugha Street, will be diverted via Cathedral Street (by means temporary traffic management) and Thomas Lane. 
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained

 

King Street North and Red Cow Lane, Dublin 7.

Roadbridge/Grangegorman Development Agency intends to close the following road to facilitate construction of a new storm sewer:

  • King Street North (from Smithfield to Queen Street) & Red Cow Lane, Dublin 7 from 0.00hrs on Saturday 12th April to 24.00hrs on Sunday 27th April 2014.

  • Traffic on Church Street wishing to travel on King Street North to Queen Street will be diverted via Church Street Upper, Constitution Hill, Phibsborough Road, North Circular Road, Prussia Street, Manor Street and Stoneybatter.
  • Traffic on King Street North at Church Street Junction wishing to travel west on King Street North to Queen Street will be diverted via Church Street, Fr Matthew Bridge, Bridge Street, Cook Street, Merchants Quay, Usher’s Quay, James Joyce Bridge and Blackhall Place.
  • Traffic on Church Street Upper wishing to travel on King Street North to Queen Street will be diverted via Church Street, Fr Matthew Bridge, Bridge Street, Cook Street, Merchants Quay, Usher’s Quay, James Joyce Bridge and Blackhall Place.
  • Traffic on Bow Street, Brown Street and Smithfield wishing to travel on King Street North to Brunswick Street North will be diverted via Red Cow Lane. 
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained. 

Samsung Night Run Event

Samsung Electronics intends to close the following roads to facilitate the Samsung Night Run event:

  • Location 1: Customs House Quay/North Wall Quay (from Butt Bridge to Talbot Memorial Bridge) from 18.30hrs to 21.45hrs on Sunday 27th April 2014.
  • Location 2: Custom House Quay (from Talbot Memorial Bridge to North Wall Quay) and North Wall Quay (from Custom House Quay to Samuel Beckett Bridge) from 19.00hrs to 23.00hrs on Sunday 27th April 2014.

In addition to temporary road closures there will be Garda operated rolling road closures & lane closures on the race route from Customs House Quay, North Wall Quay (NWQ), Samuel Beckett Bridge, Sir John Rogerson’s Quay (SJRQ), Asgard Road, Horse Fair, Blood Stoney Road, SJRQ , Samuel Beckett Bridge, NWQ, East Wall Road, NWQ, Talbot Memorial Bridge, City Quay, SJRQ, Creighton St,  Windmill Lane, SJRQ, Lime Street, Hanover Street East, Cardiff Lane, SJRQ, Blood Stoney Road, Horse Fair, Asgard Road, Hanover Quay, Benson Street, SJRQ, City Quay, Talbot Memorial Bridge and NWQ between 21.00 and 23.00hrs

  • Traffic on Eden Quay wishing to travel on Customs House Quay & North Wall Quay to East Link Bridge will be diverted via Beresford Place, Gardiner St, Summerhill, Portland Row, Seville Place, Sheriff St Upper and East Wall Rd.
  • Traffic on East Wall Rd/ East Link Bridge wishing to travel inbound on North Wall Quay will be diverted via Sheriff St Upr & Seville Place.
  • Traffic on North Strand Road /Seville Place wishing to travel on Guild St / Samuel Beckett Bridge will be diverted via Sheriff St Upper and East Wall Rd.
  • Traffic on Memorial Road wishing to travel on City Quay /Lombard Street to Westland Row/ Pearse St will be diverted via Moss St and Townsend Street.
  • Traffic on Pearse Street wishing to travel on Macken Street/Cardiff Lane/ Samuel Beckett Bridge to North Strand Road will be diverted via Tara Street, Butt Bridge, Beresford Place and Amiens Street
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

 

New Wapping Street, Dublin 1. 

Dublin City Council intends to make an order authorising the temporary closure of the following road to facilitate major drainage construction works:

  • New Wapping Street (Sheriff Street Upper – Mayor Street Upper), Dublin 1 from Tuesday 22nd April to Friday 16th May 2014 for the entire period.

Traffic Management Plan

  • Traffic travelling east or west on North Wall Quay wishing to travel on New Wapping Street to Sheriff Street Upper will be diverted via Castleforbes Road.
  • Traffic travelling east or west on Sheriff Street Upper wishing to travel on New Wapping Street to North Wall Quay will be diverted via Castleforbes Road.
  • Traffic travelling south on East Road wishing to travel south on New Wapping Street to to North Wall Quay will be diverted via Sheriff Street Upper and Castleforbes Road.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained

 

King Street North & Red Cow Lane, Dublin 7.

  • Fleet Street (from Westmoreland Street to D’Olier Street), Dublin 2 from 00.00hrs on Tuesday 18th March to 24.00hrs on Friday 2nd May 2014.

  • Traffic on Westmoreland Street wishing to travel on Fleet Street to Townsend Street & College Street will be diverted via D’Olier Street.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.


Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2

GMC Utilities Group Limited intends to close the following road to facilitate Luas Cross City Works: 

  • Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2 right-turn lane to D’Olier Street from 0.00hrs on Tuesday 6th May to 24.00hrs on Tuesday 3rd June 2014.

Traffic Management Plan

  • Bus Gate on Fleet Street will be temporarily suspended.
  • Traffic on Westmoreland Street wishing to travel on D’Olier Street to Townsend Street & College Street will be diverted via Fleet Street.
  • Traffic on Westmoreland Street wishing to access D’Olier Street will be diverted via O’Connell Bridge, Eden Quay, Customs House Quay, Memorial Bridge George’s Quay and Burgh Quay.
  • Pedestrian and access will be maintained.


Grafton Street, Dublin 2

Dublin City Council’s Road Construction Division intends to close the following roads to facilitate the Grafton Street Improvement Scheme:

  • Grafton Street, Dublin 2 (from Duke Street to South Anne Street) from 0.00hrs on Thursday 27th March to 24.00hrs on Friday 27th
    June 2014.

Traffic Management Plan

  • Traffic accessing Grafton Street from Nassau Street will exit via Duke Street. The exit route will be facilitated by temporarily reversing traffic flow on Duke Street between Grafton Street and Duke Lane.
  • Traffic wishing to access to Grafton Street northern section (South Anne Street to St. Stephen’s Green) will enter via South Anne Street and exit via St. Stephen’s Green North.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained. 

Railway Street, Dublin 1.

Duggan Brothers Contracting Ltd, intends to close the following road to facilitate construction works for the Liberty House Construction Project:

  • Railway Street, Dublin 1 (from Gloucester Place Lower to Beaver Street) from 0.00hrs on Friday 24th January 2014 to 24.00hrs on Tuesday 30th September 2014.

  • Traffic on Gloucester Place Lower / James Joyce Street wishing to travel on Railway Street to Buckingham Street / Beaver Street will be diverted via Sean MacDermott Street and Foley Street.
  • Traffic on Buckingham Street / Beaver Street wishing to travel on Railway Street to Gloucester Place Lower / James Joyce Street will be diverted via Sean MacDermott Street and Foley Street.
  • Local access to each end of Railway Street will be maintained.
  • Pedestrian laneways from Railway Street to Sean MacDermott Street and Foley Street will be maintained.
