Dublin City Council’s Northside Music Festival 2009

Dublin City Council’s Arts Office is delighted to present the 3rd year of the Northside Music Festival. The festival offers a programme of free diverse music events across the north of the city both indoors and outdoors. This year the festival will run from the 21st July to 16th August and will feature a wealth of Irish and International talent. Many of the venues are unique in that they do not usually host professional musicians such as St. Pappan’s Church, Santry. Carleton Hall, Marino, Sean O’Casey Community Centre, East Wall along with Dublin City Parks and civic spaces

Some of the highlights of this year’s festival are:

  • The Ebony Steel Band from London
  • Xi’ An Si from China
  • Seckou Keita Quintet from Senegal/UK
  • Lazik from Cork

This year’s Northside Music Festival will also feature a workshop programme for young people in association with the Big Bang Festival. The festival is part of Dublin City Council’s Arts office extended arts service to city communities. There really is something for everyone with a range of musical talent across a range of musical cultures.

Admission to all performances is free. Click here for a schedule of performances from July 21st - August 16th 2009.
