An Open Day in a Vacant Space that may be suitable for cultural use is now scheduled for Mon 14th May from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This building is Eblana House Marrowbone Lane Dublin 8 and is owned by Dublin City Council. The ground floor of this building is vacant and it measures 400 m2.
In order to develop a workable plan for the cultural use of this building Dublin City Council Arts Office, Economic Development Unit and Property Section will hold workshops during the Open Day on ‘clustering’ and speakers with experience of clustering artists and organisations together in buildings will be present to share their experience.. The workshops will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon) and 2pm to 4pm. You may view the building up to 4 p.m. and whether you attend the workshop or not ,you can make application either as an individual or a group for temporary cultural use of this building on Application Forms that will be available on the day. The workshops are free of charge but you must be registered.
This open day is a test case for the other buildings now registered with the Vacant Spaces scheme and it is hoped that applications for use of these other buildings throughout the city will proceed from the learning and experience of the application process for the building referred to above.
