Dublin City Council aims to animate the public domain by encouraging and introducing more events and activities for all ages in city centre public spaces. Anyone who plans to hold an event in a public space under the jurisdiction of Dublin City Council should make contact  with the Events Unit as early as possible.  Consultation with the Events Unit should take place for events taking place in private grounds or in other authority areas that will impact on the city e.g. through increased traffic/ crowds or litter.

Dublin City Events Programme 2012

Do you have an event which will bring colour and creativity to Dublin city next year?

Dublin City Council wishes to encourage, support and provide seed funding to a limited number of major events/projects which will animate the city's streets in 2012.

Expressions of Interest are being sought from those working in the events industry, professional events and festival producers, cultural institutions, governing bodies of sport, city businesses and others who are interested in putting on public events/projects. If interested please submit outline proposals for the events/projects which meet the following objectives:

• Provide entertainment for the general public
• Increase visitor numbers to the city
• Enhance the profile of the city
• Provide measurable economic benefits to the city

All outline proposals should include the key elements of the proposed events/projects including indications of scale, budget,format and timing.

Dublin City Council will then invite a number of parties to provide more detailed plans on their proposed events/projects with a view to supporting or partially funding their proposal.
