Welcome Message
Welcome to the Dublin City Public Libraries and Archive services website. I hope you will find it both informative and useful.
In particular I hope that the information on the City collections and services will encourage you to visit the City Centre Library at the Ilac Centre or your local library in order to avail of the wide range of library based extension and out-reach events and programmes. You will find a full list of services here.
I remind you that all our services are provided free of charge in support of opportunities for Life Long learning, Literature and Reading, Information and Enterprise together with Heritage and Cultural services and programmes.
Dublin is proud to announce that it has become one of only five UNESCO Cities of Literature, joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
An office of Dublin City of Literature has been set up and is directed and supported by staff of Dublin City Libraries under the chairmanship of the Dublin City Librarian. You can now visit the Dublin UNESCO City of Literature website.
I would like to refer you to details of our development plan, capital building programme and to changes announced in the 1999 Finance Bill making it possible to assist current and future building programmes through a tax incentive scheme.
