Dublin City Public Libraries in association with the Chinese New Year Festival
Storytelling
Dublin City Public Libraries will host a number of Chinese and Irish Fairytale workshops during the Chinese New Year Festival period. Irish Storytellers Seosamh O Maolalaí and Aideen McBride will present tales from a book Chinese Fairytales, lovingly translated into English by a key forefather of Sino-Irish relations the Hon. Desmond Parsons of Birr Castle, from his travels to Peking, China in the 1930s.
Tiger Talks
To mark the Year of the Tiger, a talk on tigers, including habitat, lifestyle and conservation aspects, will be given by Jim McMonagle of Dublin Zoo in several branch libraries around the city.
Arts & Crafts
Arts and crafts sessions on a Chinese theme will take place in several branch libraries throughout the Festival period.
