About this event:

Dublin City Public Libraries in association with the Chinese New Year Festival

Storytelling

Dublin City Public Libraries will host a number of Chinese and Irish Fairytale workshops during the Chinese New Year Festival period. Irish Storytellers Seosamh O Maolalaí and Aideen McBride will present tales from a book Chinese Fairytales, lovingly translated into English by a key forefather of Sino-Irish relations the Hon. Desmond Parsons of Birr Castle, from his travels to Peking, China in the 1930s.

Tiger Talks

To mark the Year of the Tiger, a talk on tigers, including habitat, lifestyle and conservation aspects, will be given by Jim McMonagle of Dublin Zoo in several branch libraries around the city.

Arts & Crafts

Arts and crafts sessions on a Chinese theme will take place in several branch libraries throughout the Festival period.
