Introduction
Dublin City Archives contains records of the civic government of Dublin from 1171 to the late 20th century. These records include City Council and committee minutes, account books, correspondence, reports, court records, charity petitions, title deeds, maps and plans and drawings all of which document the development of Dublin over eight centuries.
Dublin City Archives also acquires private collections that relate to the history of the city of Dublin or to individuals who worked within the Municipal City.
Certificate in Local Studies, 2013 - 2014
The Lord Mayor’s Certificate in Local Studies will be offered at Dublin City Library and Archive, 138-144 Pearse Street, D2 on Tuesday evenings from September 2013 until April 2014. The course consists of 85 hours part time and will equip participants with skills in researching local history and in the preparation of a dissertation. The closing date for course applications is 5.00 p.m. on Friday 30 August 2013.
Bursaries: Certificate in Local Studies 2013-2014
Dublin City Council will offer two bursaries in payment of not more than 50% of fees for students taking the Certificate in Local Studies at Dublin City Library & Archive for the academic year 2013-2014. For more information see Local Studies Bursaries 2013
Certificate in Oral History, 2013 - 2014
The Lord Mayor’s Certificate in Oral History will be offered at Dublin City Library and Archive, 138-144 Pearse Street, D2 on Monday evenings from September 2013 until April 2014. The course consists of 65 hours part time and will equip participants with skills in the preparation and conduct of oral history projects, including best practice in the collection and archiving of oral history interviews. The closing date for course applications is 5.00 p.m. on Friday 30 August 2013.
