Ballyfermot Library's Digital Learning Centre

Computer learningBallyfermot Library’s Digital Learning Centre offers a range of learning opportunities to:

  • Learn about the keyboard
  • Develop computer skills,
  • Learn to type,
  • Develop reading and writing skills,
  • Learn about digital photography (facilitated workshops available from time to time)      

Its multimedia resources support a range of learning styles in way that is both fun and learner-centred. Additional resources will be made available as required.

Target Groups

Ballyfermot Library is particularly interested in promoting this service to:

  • Homework clubs
  • Adult literacy groups
  • Educational groups
  • Older people
  • Family learning programmes
  • Members of the public with a disability
  • Those participating in the WEBSmart Programme
  • Workplace groups in association with DCC’s Training Unit.       

Universal Access

  • 12 PCs with a range of software and online (broadband) access
  • Wheelchair dockable tables
  • 6 PCs have 19inch monitors
  • Keyboard gloves available
  • Six digital cameras available for group work
