The 11th Annual Sir John T. Gilbert Commemorative Lecture, 2008

The Gilbert Lecture Series was inaugurated in 1998, the year which marked the centenary of the death of Sir John T. Gilbert. The aim of the series is to celebrate the life and work of Gilbert, and the history of Dublin, the city whose past he wished to incover and bring before a wider public.

The eleventh annual lecture in the Gilbert Lecture Series, Dr Christine Casey's "River, rivalry and revolt: history of the built fabric of Dublin City", was delivered on Wednesday 23 January 2008, at Dublin City Library & Archive, Pearse St., and chaired by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Paddy Bourke.
