About Our Book Clubs
There are children's book clubs in a number of our libraries throughout the city!
The members of most clubs choose a book to read and get together every 3-4 weeks to discuss it. The library provides the books of course. Library staff often research the authors and books as a background to the discussion. Some clubs offer members the chance to come along and talk about the book they are reading currently - these clubs can take place more often as there is no set book to read.

Dates and times listed below may vary so it is advisable to check with the library in advance if wanting to participate in a Book Club.
Ballymun Library
In Ballymun, the members of the club read different books and meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 4.15pm to discuss their favourites.

Cabra Library
In Cabra Library the book club is called 'Cover to Cover' .
Junior readers group 1 for 7-9 year olds meet on the last Monday of each month at 3.45pm,
Junior readers group 2 for 7-9 year olds meet on Tuesdays at 3.45pm - 4.15pm.
Readers group for 10-12 year olds meet on the last Monday of each month at 4.15pm.
Teen readers group meets on Tuesdays at 5pm.
Please note that the library is closed on Saturdays / Mondays of bank holiday weekends.

Children's Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of the month.

The 'Magic Wardrobe Book Club' meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 3.30pm.

Finglas Library
Finglas Junior Book Club (9-12 year olds) meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 3.30pm.
Their favourite authors are Jacqueline Wilson, Darren Shan and J.K. Rowling.

Pembroke Library Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 3.30 pm.

Terenure Library
Terenure Library Junior Book Club for 8-12 year olds meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 3pm.
A book club for children aged 5-8 years olds meets on the third Thursday of the month at 3.00pm.
A book club for teens aged 12 to 15 years meets on the second Wednesday of the month.
Meetings are not held during the summer months of July and August.
