You can replace any of the motor tax documents listed below. To do so, you must pay the charge shown below:
- Registration Book: €12
- Vehicle Registration Certificate: €12
- Tax Disc: €6
- Trailer Card: €6
- Certificate of Roadworthiness for a Heavy Goods Vehicle: €7
- Certificate of Roadworthiness for a Light Goods Vehicle: €3
Get a Replacement Document
To apply for a replacement document, follow these steps:
Step 1: Complete the Replacement Documents Application Form RF134
Step 2: Request a member of An Garda Síochána to witness the form
Visit a Garda Station and ask a member of the force to officially witness the form. To do so, he/she must sign the form and place the station’s stamp on it.
To assist, this process please bring some identification with you. This could include:
- Passport
- Driving licence
- Social welfare card
Step 3: Return the form to us
Send the completed form along with payment to your local tax office.
Find the address for your local tax office below.
Enclose a cheque or postal order for the fee required, payable to ‘Motor Tax Office’. Do not enclose cash.
Note: To get a replacement Vehicle Registration Certificate, you must bring/send your completed form and your €12 to your local motor tax office.
