Phibsborough Quality Bus Corridor
Phibsborough Road and Prospect Road, Dublin 7
Dublin City Council proposes to make changes to the road layout on Phibsborough Road and Prospect Road, Dublin 7. The changes are intended to improve operating conditions for public transport serving the area.
- Phibsborough Road: the existing northbound layout comprises two general traffic lanes and an advisory cycle lane. The proposal involves the amalgamation of the advisory cycle lane with one of the general traffic lanes to create a new shared bus and cycle lane between the Phibsborough Shopping Centre and the junction with Whitworth Road.
- Prospect Road: the existing northbound layout comprises two lanes for general traffic turning onto Prospect Way and one lane for general traffic travelling onto the Finglas Road. The proposal is to convert one of the general traffic turning lanes onto Prospect Way into a new shared bus and cycle lane.
- The proposed bus and cycle lane will operate from 07:00-19:00hrs, Monday -Saturday, except between the junctions of Connaught Street and Whitworth Road where it will operate from 07:00-10:00hrs and 12:30-19:00hrs, Monday - Saturday.
- The proposal involves minor works to the traffic island at the junction of Prospect Road and Prospect Way.
- The layout of the southbound traffic lanes is not affected by this proposal.

Navan Road QBC
The Quality Bus Network Office, on behalf of Dublin City Council, has prepared a scheme to modify the road layout on the Navan Road, Dublin 7, from the junction with Ratoath Road/Cabra Road as far as the Ashtown Roundabout.
The Navan Road is a key route in the city’s road network. It carries large volumes of traffic and public transport on a daily basis. There are existing bus lanes in the inbound direction which give buses fast and reliable travel times. However buses are often delayed by general traffic congestion in the outbound direction, so new outbound bus lanes are being proposed as part of this scheme.
Generally the scheme involves rearranging existing road space to provide one bus lane and one general traffic lane in each direction. This is achieved through amalgamation of the existing cycle lanes into shared bus and cycle lanes, reductions in width of the general traffic lanes and localised widening of the roadway in certain locations. Pedestrian safety will improved along the route with the provision of new pedestrian crossing points, upgrades to existing crossings, provision of safety barriers and enhanced bus stop facilities.

Blackhall Place, Dublin 7- Proposed Extension of Bus Lane and Changes to Parking
Dublin City Council proposes to make changes to the road layout on Blackhall Place, Dublin 7. The changes involve the creation of a new section of bus lane and associated changes to the hours of operation of on-street parking.
It is proposed to install a new section of bus lane on Blackhall Place northbound from the junction of Benburb Street to tie into the existing bus lane at the junction with Hendrick Place.
The proposed bus lane will operate from 07:00-10:00hrs and 16:00-19:00hrs, Monday to Saturday. The existing pay-and-display and permit parking on the west side of Blackhall Place, outside house numbers 27-33, will only be available for parking outside of these hours.
The works involve minor realignment of the kerb on the east side on Blackhall Place and new signage and road markings.
Plans illustrating the proposed scheme will be on display from Monday 19th July 2010 to Monday 30th August 2010 at:-
Dublin City Council, Motor Tax Office, Blackhall Walk, Queen Street, Dublin 7, between the hours of 09.30 - 15.30hrs, Monday to Friday.
Submissions or observations are to be sent to: The Project Manager, QBN Project Office, Dublin City Council, Verizon Building, 4th Floor, Erne Street Lower, Dublin 2 Email: qbnoffice@dublincity.ie
The closing date for the receipt of submissions is: 16.30hrs on Tuesday 14th September 2010.
