North of Swords QBC

The R132 North of Swords QBC scheme was on public consultation from 22nd September 2009 to 20th November 2009.

The scheme was passed at the Balbriggan /Swords Area Committee Meeting (Services A – Transportation, Environment, Water Services) on Thursday 10th June 2010.

This scheme proposals include linking new bus lanes from Seatown Roundabout to the existing bus lanes on the Swords By pass, which means there will be a continuous QBC ,stretching from north of the Lissenhall interchange all the way in to Dublin City. A new dedicated off-road facility will be provided for cyclists and pedestrians who previously had to use the hard shoulder.

Current Status

Construction is planned to commence in Q1 2011.
