Foxrock Church to Dún Laoghaire Dart Station Quality Bus Corridor and Cycle Track Scheme

  • Kill Lane
  • Kill Avenue
  • Monkstown Farm

Description:

The Quality Bus Network Office in partnership with Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, completed the preliminary design of the Foxrock Church to Dún Laoghaire Dart Station Quality Bus Corridor and Cycle Track Scheme in September 2007.  The objectives of the scheme were as follows:

  1. Provide a high degree of priority for buses and cyclists along the route as site constraints would allow;
  2. Integrate this Quality Bus Corridor (QBC) with existing or proposed QBCs;
  3. Provide quick and reliable bus services capable of providing consistent journey times;
  4. Provide bus access and facilities that cater for the mobility impaired and disabled;
  5. Provide improved safety for all road users including pedestrians, cyclists and the mobility impaired; and
  6. Provide general environmental enhancement along the route, noting significant footpath and junctions upgrading.

Public Consultation Procedure:

The drawings were on public display from 6th September 2007 to October 11th 2007 at both the County Hall and the Deansgrange library. A public consultation report was presented to the Dun Laoghaire - Rathdown area committee on Monday 3rd December 2007.

The scheme is available to download in pdf format below.
