Drainage and wastewater services

Dublin City Council is responsible for managing the infrastructure necessary for the collection, treatment and disposal of up to 2 million cubic metres of wastewater per day. The divisions that maintain this infrastructure are Drainage Services and Wastewater Services.

Drainage Services

Drainage Services monitor and enforce aspects of environmental legislation. It facilitates new development both commercial and residential in the city and neighbouring authorities by developing the drainage network to meet ever-increasing demands. Drainage Services manages rivers, watercourses and the following services to the public;

Wastewater Services Division

Wastewater services Division is responsible for the treatment of Dublin City’s wastewater and the maintenance of it’s pumping stations. This wastewater is treated to EU standards at the newly completed Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Works.
