Meeting the projected long-term water supply needs of the Greater Dublin Area, up to 2050 and beyond, is the main purpose of the ‘Water Supply Project-Dublin Region’ (WSP-DR) . This Project is on the current Department of Environment Communication and Local Government (DECLG) Water Services Investment Programme with Dublin City Council as Lead Authority. The Greater Dublin Area includes the administrative areas of Dublin City, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, Fingal and South Dublin Counties, including counties Wicklow, Meath and Kildare involving a current population of approximately 1.5 million people.
