The purpose of a Strategic Policy Committee is to formulate, develop, monitor and review policies which relate to the functions of Dublin City Council and to advise the council accordingly.
Strategic Policy Committee Scheme 2009 - 2014
Dublin City Council has considered and approved a Strategic Policy Committee Scheme. The scheme can be viewed here.

Representation is drawn from the City Council, Sectoral Interests and the 3 Pillars (see Appendix C of Scheme). An additional Pillar, Environmental, has been established in addition to the existing Pillars.

5 Strategic Policy Committees consists of 15 members and the 6th has 18 members.
- Two thirds of these are your City Councillors
- One third of these are representatives of sectoral interests.

- The chairperson of each of the Strategic Policy Committees (above)
- The Lord Mayor
