The City Manager’s department is responsible for the administration of the City Manager’s Office, City Hall, the Lord Mayor and the Mansion House. This department also manages voter registration in Dublin City.
Philip Maguire - City Manager
Philip Maguire is the Dublin City Manager on an interim basis pending the permanent filling of the City Manager position through the Public Appointments Service.
He is serving on the board of the Dublin City Enterprise, Digital Hub Development Agency, Dublin Docklands Development Council and is a member of the City and County Managers Association.
Philip Maguire was previously Deputy City Manager with responsibility for Urban Planning, Economic Development and International Relations in Dublin City Council.
Prior to Philip joining the Planning and Economic Development Department he was the Assistant City Manager for the Culture, Recreation and Amenity Department. From September 2010 until January 2013 he served as CEO of Ballymun Regeneration Limited. He previously worked in Fingal County Council, Dublin County Council and the Borough of Dun Laoghaire.
The Role of Dublin City Manager
As Chief Executive of Dublin City Council, Philip is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the council. He also has responsibility for the implementation of council decisions.
Philip works with your elected representatives (councillors) and council staff to implement Dublin City Council's vision for a creative and sustainable city.
