What's in the Plan?

Each RAPID area has prepared it’s own plan designed to address the social exclusion problems and disadvantage being experienced in it’s own area. A local Area Implementation Team (AIT), involving the local communities and representatives of the agencies working in the area prepared the plan which looked at ways to get all the community and state agencies, working together to improve local people’s lives. It examined what new resources and facilities were required in the area and ways which the agencies could improve the delivery of their existing services. It was prepared in the extremely tight timeframe of just 24 weeks, which included a wide range of local consultation. The plan identified a total of 27 Projects and Actions.

Most of the actions were devised as a means to address one or more of the needs/issues raised through the consultation but which had not yet the information, plans or strategies advanced to an adequate level. In the Plan these actions mainly take the form of detailed consultations, research and analysis, the formation of Fora, Task Forces, Working Groups or Committees to make recommendations or develop specific proposals.
