Finglas is steeped in history and culture and dates back to St. Canice who founded the Celtic Abbey in 560 A.D.St.Canice was the patron saint of Kilkenny and later became the patron saint for Finglas. The village developed around the Abbey.
In 2009, Dublin City Council started a “Walk and Talk” trail to provide locals and visitors alike with a history of the Finglas area.
Due to its success in 2010, we are pleased to announce that the 2011 "Walk and Talk" will start again in the Spring.
