FAI soccer camp

Photo of FAI soccer campSixty children from the Inchicore and Bluebell areas, enjoyed a feast of football in the summer months. The camp was aimed at boys and girls, aged between 7 and 12. The children were nominated by their local youth service or school on the basis of an interest in football and their good behaviour. The week involved 5 days of football coaching by qualified FAI coaches and matches. RAPID funded every child.

Each child received a full playing kit, including a personalised shirt, Ireland kit bag and a water bottle.

All the children had a great time and perhaps the highlight was a visit from local League of Ireland footballer, Saint Patrick’s Gary O’Neill. He was very popular with the children and spent time answering questions from them. All the children were given free tickets to the next Saint Patrick’s home game and the top 2 teams from the matches played in the week had the opportunity to play on the pitch at half time.
This is the 2nd year the Soccer Week has been held and it will be held next year again.
