CANALAPHONIC – A brand new music festival to hit Dublin

Dublin City Council, South East Area Office, is delighted to be supporting the first CANALAPHONIC music and cultural Festival which will hit the streets, canal and plazas of the southside of Dublin city on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th May 2015.

This new and entirely free festival is open to all and is set against the backdrop of Portobello Harbour, the Grand Canal and Rathmines and coincides with the arrival of barges participating in the Inland Waterways Association of Ireland’s Dublin Rally.

Highlights include:
On Friday evening from 5 – 9.30pm and Saturday from 1 - 9.30pm, bands will play on a barge at Portobello Harbour, followed by a wide range of gigs and club nights of differing sizes and genres in 22 venues throughout the area.

Family centered events on Saturday such as the boutique market at Portobello Harbour and children’s activities at the front of St Mary’s College and the Mart (the old Rathmines fire station) will host a 20 piece jazz swing band at 7pm on Saturday.
